This page contains the first of a number of questions for which Grace Anatomy (“GA™) and a great number of other stakeholders (particularly current members) have wanted answers for four, yes four years. The specific information desired from Grace Community Church in Fulton is in bold type.
During the Family Meeting, Elder and Pastor Chris Wolf asserted, “That money that we were putting, eh, towards the land, to purchase that land, um, so we got that back.”
Again, “we got that back” confers little. In innumerable contexts, this phrase has been used definitively to maintain a return of the title back to the “land owner” and a full refund of the purchase price to Grace Community Church in Fulton. Conversely it has been communicated that the West Friendship property was never purchased but only under contract for over a year. It was further communication that the contract was terminated by Grace Community Church in Fulton in early 2020. Whether Grace Community Church in Fulton or the seller did so in breach of contract was not addressed. The former describes a return of the full purchase price in exchange for the title, the latter perhaps a premium for a derivative (essentially a “call option”: an “insurance contract“ that the property will be available exclusively to Grace Community Church in Fulton for a certain amount or time), a down payment (a fraction of the purchase price) or no money at all.
Accordingly, GA™ patiently requests:
1) exactly how much ($0 to ~$1.8 M) was “got back”
2) from whom (e.g, the “land owner”, escrow)
3) when, and
4) for what (e.g., return of a derivative premium, down payment or full purchase price?
GA™ and others have been requesting the complements to those questions for almost, again four (yes four) years. Late in the fall of 2019, when pressed, Pastor Seth Rumsey described the agreement Grace Community Church in Fulton had with the seller as either a call option, a sales contract with numerous and significant contingencies (many to which neither the seller or Grace Community Church in Fulton were bound) so as to be superfluous or merely a verbal contract. This would clearly contradicts both the aforementioned statements regarding transactions. Accordingly, GA™ also patiently again asks;
1) exactly how much ($0 to ~$1.8 M) was paid
2) to whom (e.g, the “land owner”, escrow)
3) when, and
4) for what (e.g., purchase of a derivative premium, down payment or full purchase price)?
To date date we have no answers to the above question from Chris Wolf or anyone else. If any of our readers have verifiable responses to our inquiries or know how we might best obtain them, please forward them to us or contact us at your earliest convenience.
This should go without saying, but If anyone can furnish corrections to anything is this article, please contact us as soon as possible.
As in this post, each subsequent one will address concerns related to a single specific topic.
